計分：要寫計畫書、要到場、要交作品各 2 分；要自籌、文件 8 項以上、流程 10 步以上各 1 分（計畫書 10 章以上、自籌一半以上再加 1 分）。1 分以下輕鬆，2–4 分要準備，5 分以上大工程。

申請資格

人類學博士班學生（含社會文化、語言、生物人類學與考古，或其他國家名稱不同的同等領域），或之前有人類學學位，或論文指導教授與人類學有關（不是人類學系、也沒有人類學學位的，指導教授要有人類學博士）。不限國籍與所屬機構；論文指導教授要在申請人的訓練裡有正式角色。要拿到補助，計畫開始日前必須完成論文以外的所有博士學位要求，並由系所出具修完課程與考試的證明。沒獲選的可以重新申請一次（要附回應評審意見的說明）；有兩次截止的計畫不能連續兩個梯次申請同一項；已有的 Wenner-Gren 補助要先完成所有要求（含結案報告）；同一時間只能有一件申請在審（含基金會其他計畫）。研究靈長類學或靈長類保育的要說明和人類學的關聯；語言結構與瀕危語言研究要立基於人類學問題。申請要用英文。計畫在古巴、伊朗、北韓、敘利亞、委內瑞拉、克里米亞、頓內次克與盧甘斯克地區、俄羅斯的，撥款前要另交文件。
